Reno-Tahoe NV Chrome Divas Chapter Director Shares Recent Journeys

Interview with the Reno-Tahoe Chrome Divas Founder "Blondie"

Reno-Tahoe Chrome Divas started in 2015 for the shear desire to have the ability to create a ride/event for women only. My riding adventures began when I lived in Pennsylvania, where I met up with Berks County HOG and the LOH ladies. This group is very active and did many lady only events. Fast forward to my time with NNHOG and learning that technically “all” members (male and female) must be invited to all events created. I wanted to recreate some of the experiences I had with the LOH in PA so at the end of my 3rd year as an LOH officer for NNHOG it was time to start something new and Reno-Tahoe Chrome Divas planning began. Being a part of the startup of this chapter has been a great adventure, I have met some incredible women because of this.

One of the great things was flying down to San Diego with my BFF Carla from South Dakota spending time in that great city and then meeting up with the San Diego Chapter and riding with them! What a blessing. We were welcomed with open arms and rode to lunch where we met up with the So Cal Chapter. What an incredible experience. The summer of 2016 the Reno-Tahoe Chrome Divas attended the Rock N’ Rally in Mammoth Lakes CA, it was so much fun we wanted to include San Diego and So Cal chapters to join us. We were fortunate to have 16 ladies from the 3 chapters make the trip. Great friendship were made and more planning for the future. Then in September several of the So Cal Chrome Divas came to Lake Tahoe, where Sunday September 10th I got to ride some windy and twisty roads with these lovely ladies. Looking forward to more fun adventures with this incredible Chrome Divas!

How long have you been riding? My own since 1998

Favorite trip? 2009 when I “accidently” went to Sturgis. This trip started in Portland OR with me and 2 male friends. We rode to Las Vegas and the Ogden UT for the Patriot Guard Rally. From Ogden my plan was to go to Cody WY and then Glacier National Park, but I met someone at our campground and he was heading to Sturgis. The next morning my 2 guy friends headed back to Portland and myself and my new friend headed to Cody WY. I stayed in Cody for a few days riding with my Dad and stepmom from Michigan. When it was time to pack up and head to Sturgis I met another gal that was riding with 2 guys, she was from Michigan. She invited me to tag along with them and so I did. It was an incredible trip.

How many miles would you say you ride per year? 7,000

Current bike? 2014 HD Street Glide Special

Other organizations you are or have been a member of? Berks County HOG (East Coast), NNHOG (Reno, NV)

Greatest accomplishments on my bike? Rode the 48 states solo, Iron Butt 1,000 miles in 18hr and 6 minutes, ABC’s of HOG received enough points to have my name printed in the HOG magazine.

What Chrome Divas means to you? Sisterhood, lifelong friendships from all over.
